Evyn Drakeford, leader of the extraparliamentary Ynysig Movement, has called to send a "strong signal to Pentyre" in the Cynulliad Cenedlaethol elections that are scheduled to be held in 1693. At a rally in Lloran, attended by around a thousand people, the former Governor-General said that the Ynysig Movement would be contesting "at least a hundred" constituencies.
Drakeford, who served as the leader of the Nationalist faction and then lend his support to the Realists after a dramatic political re-alignment caused by the Westward expansion, stated that neither of the two large political factions still represents the common people. "You should ask youself, what will ab Ioan and Kingsbane do for the ordinary Calbain? We know that there will be more money going to big business, to the shipping industry, to our unsustainably large navy, but what will go to Thom Jones? I'll tell you: nothing again!"
Aside from attacking the two factions that have dominated Calbain politics for almost a century, Drakeford also attacked the Regionalist and Minority faction, calling it a "fifth column" that "cannot wait to see out great Calbain nation perish".
An opinion poll held by Y Ffagl shows that the Ynysig Movement would pick up between ten and twenty seats if elections were held today.
